Group Collaboration: My group members in the revolution project were Nia Asbill and Sofia Mertz. The collaboration within our group was great, but there were some problems here and there. But overall we collaborated very well, and got the tasks finished. Some things that went well in terms of collaboration was our group members being able to take one another's ideas and fulfill them. We were also to spill the work evenally determined by are strengths and what we were capable of. Something that could be done to grow as a group member which was used especially in a project like the Revolution project, is making sure every group member is doing something productive that is useful to the help the group. Because if we each are doing something differently and not working on the same task it sometimes will be very useful and save us time. Specific skills that could be improved are knowing what each other are capable of. This is a very important skill that should be developed or learned because once you know what each other could do you plan off that. Either by giving each other less or more of a workload.
Humanities: In Humanities we created numerous things such as Choose Your Own adventure stories, Revolution presentations, drawings, and developed new levels of skills. Throughout the project one major tool for our learning was ability to research. Each group was given a revolution and certain questions about that revolution. We then would create presentations answering this questions and sharing them to our peers. The research we did throughout the presentation helped learn how locate useful, and trustworthy information. We also created our own stories bringing out our creativity and thinking. By creating different sides to the stories really helped with our creative writing. These stories let us write about anything, but must have related back to ur revolution. Being able to know your Revolution I feel separated some good stories with even better ones. Because those who researched more than others and really understood it their content could write their stories with more historical evidence. Humanities was a major part of how the coaster worked and looked. The whole coaster was based on our CYOA stories and it followed one path. The decorations applied to our coaster was based of our revolution. Physics: In Physics we learned many things involving energy. Throughout the project we studied energy and the use of it through problem and equations. We started to use warmup problems to help us with finding the different Potential, Kinetic, Mechanical and velocity throughout our roller coasters. The practice problems that we attempted daily was very frustrating at first because I didn't understand the concept and formulas. But it came very simple by just knowing the equations and how to plug in the numbers into the equations. Once I understood I was able to help out my peers and explain the process with solving the equations. After the coaster was built we measured the heights of the coaster along with the weight of the marbles. We then were able to fill out the energy table by calculating the energies at the different heights. We used thinking in physics with the coaster by finding the energies at each point.
Engineering: In engineering there were many new skills and tools we learned how to use throughout the course of the project. Something new that we studied or learned was how to create blueprints. We first started with drawing simple blocks in 3D. Then grew to more complex objects such as our roller coasters. Something that I was very proud of was our prototype. By putting a lot of my own time in this piece allowed my group and I to look back at it and create our final rollercoaster based of it. We used materials such as cardboard, paper, glue and tape to create our rough draft of our coater. Probably the most difficult part of this project was to build and create a working roller coaster track. There were many steps in creating the track and it involved many tweaking to get things near perfection. All the groups had trouble creating the track and used different methods by trying different soldering tricks or used different materials. This was definitely not the greatest part of the project, but allowed us to learn and expand our skills. One major skill that was used throughout the course of building was collaboration with your group. We all had to do something productive to finish the task. But not was it only collaborating with our own group members, but our peers as well. Communication with other groups and getting different ideas and help from them changed our ways of thinking and helped move on in the building process. Learning how to find and fix minor errors was very important cause that little error could change the outcome of a working coarser compared to a unsuccessful coaster. The main part of this project and most of the project involved engineering and I learned how to use all these different tools in the proper way.
Final Product: Some skills that I has to offer and contribute to my group is my ability to get the assigned task finished, but with also great detail. Also to have leadership in groups and making sure the work is praiseworthy to be present to my peers. So in this project I feel like I was able to offer the most I could towards the group. Are group was very balanced we all had great worth ethic and ability to get work finished, so there was no need for a facilitator or leader. In terms of work ethic, collaboration, oral communication, written communication, content knowledge I believe I would deserve an A+. Throughout the project I have improved my collaboration skills by working constantly with my other group members and peers. By asking questions, teamwork and work ethic. Content knowledge and the ability to understand has improved tremendously by further researching our topic. Along by taking notes and taking quizzes about each other's revolution. The learning topic I am very capable of and is one of my strengths are work ethic. My ability to finish my tasks and complete somethings has been a strength of mine for years. I have the ability to expand my thinking with detail and deep explanation. A skill that I could in and grow is oral communications. This is mostly towards presenting skills. This has improved a lot throughout the years, but by being more calm, confident and practice what's going to be said would help me further with my presenting skills. During exhibition could there have been something that bring in people to talk to us and see our displayed our work.
