Cultural Connections Dia De Los Muertos Reflection How challenging was this project for you? Be specific. I believe that this project was not very challenging for me, but there were some area that made me think and sometimes created a little challenge. The part that made me think deeper into and was a challenge for me was creating the box. This was difficult for me because I wanted the final product to be well done, and also make sure that it displayed my person's life in sincere and well mannered way. Doing my ofrenda/altar on such a significant person in my life was hard especially because it was very recent. But my ofrenda I believe was very creative and it shows the amount of time I put into it.
What did you enjoy most about this Cultural Connections project? What I enjoyed most about the Cultural Connections Project was actually creating the final product, which was our ofrendas. This was my favorite part of the project because we were able to create something for a meaningful person that had passed away recently or in the past. It was interesting to see people's choices, some choose close relatives or famous people who were inspirations or had an impact in their life in some way. This was also a very hands on project which is something I feel like I really benefit from and gain many other skills.
Did you receive critique and feedback from anyone (teacher, parent, classmate, etc)? If so, who? Was the feedback helpful? (This could be for any part of the project, illustrated journal, ofrenda, exhibition)Yes, I received critique from a number of different class peers. Not being specific I received critique from the peers around me during class work time. The feedback I was given was somewhat helpful. The feedback was for the ofrenda and I was given some ideas on what to add and how to set it up etc.
What grade do you think you deserve? Why?I believe that I deserve an A+ with the Cultural Connections project. I believe throughout this project I was able to flourish and utilize my skills such as improving communication, critiquing skills, organization, time management, and putting enough effort in my work. Though this project I managed my time very wisely making sure I used the open work time I had and put it towards my assignments and final product, but I also made sure they were publish worthy and understandable. I used my critiquing and communication skills in terms of when we received and gave feedback to our peers. Without organization it would be very difficult to find and complete the assignments, but I was able to make sure my work was neat, in order and organized. I put a tremendous amount of effort and thought into my work and it is displayed with my assignments and especially with my ofrenda. Overall I was able to complete every deadline in a publish worth way, as well as help my peers with their work.
If you could change something about this project, what would it be?If I could change something about this project I would change the way exhibition was set up. Overall are exhibition was interesting and very eye catching. But the only problem I saw was that we weren’t really explaining our work. We stood there or somewhere around the area and watched people look at our ofrendas. So maybe we could’ve had a different set up next time. Or questions for the observers to ask us.
