Kite Runner: Reflecting on this project it wasn't very difficult for me, but there were some areas where there were challenges to overcome. A more specific challenge in this project was making sure I understood most of the book and was making sure I comprehended it correctly. There were certain areas that I missed and had to reread, but I was able to do so and was able to clearly represent my understanding of the novel.
The easiest part of the project was filling out the journal entries. This came really easy to me because I was really interested in the book and I was able to express my thoughts/ideas. It was very interesting to see how different quotes could be represented in different views. Another simpler part aswell was critiquing and giving feedback to others.
While making my film I was very comfortable because I was prepared and knew what to say. Having a script on hand and doing further research on the book really helped. I was able to give my opinion on the book along with including other people's options. By this I was able to see how my outlook on the book differed or was similars to others
Yes, I received critique from my peers in my class. The feedback was sort of helpful in terms of seeing what others understood from my journal entries and helped me see what I need to add for my future entries. I also got critique on my video, which was to create a script and make sure I included the prompt questions and add ons.
Yes, I provided feedback that made the person think more and also helps them show their strength in the journal entry. The critique sessions were decent, and every time we did them I was able to receive and give feedback to others.
Yes, I actually read my book I chose.
For the banned book project I would give myself an A+. I believe throughout this project I was able to flourish and utilize my skills such as improving my writing, communication, critiquing skills, organization, time management and putting enough effort in my work. Though this project I managed my time very wisely making sure I completed all my journal entries, but I also made sure they were publish worthy and understandable. All the journal entries had deep thoughts and information that was backed up by opinions and evidence. I improved my writing skills by expanding my vocabulary and style of how I wrote. I used my critiquing and communication skills in terms of when we received and gave feedback to our peers. Without organization it would be very difficult to find and complete the assignments, but I was able to make sure my work was neat, in order and organized. I out a tremendous amount of effort and thought into my work and it is displayed with my completed work. Overall I was able to complete every deadline in a publish worth way, as well as help my peers with their work. If I could change something would allow for more time to read. It was a struggle to fit time to read and actually be able to comprehend the book. It was able to get done, but with at least one more week it would be less stressful.
